Asset-Specific Condition 1 of 17 market conditions

Price Move

Daily close-to-close percentage return

What Price Move Measures

The raw daily percentage change in closing price. This is the starting point for any historical pattern match — "the stock moved X% today." TradeOdds buckets this in 0.25% increments to find days with similar magnitude moves.

Buckets

TradeOdds classifies each trading day into one of these buckets for Price Move. When you run an analysis, matching days must fall in the same bucket (or adjacent buckets if tolerance is set above 0).

Down Day (various magnitudes) Flat/Micro Move Up Day (various magnitudes)

How It's Calculated

Close-to-close percentage return, bucketed in 0.25% increments from the smallest micro-moves to extraordinary multi-percent swings.

How to Use Price Move in TradeOdds

When you run an analysis on TradeOdds, Price Move is one of 17 conditions that can be active. If Price Move is toggled on, only historical days where Price Move was in the same bucket as today are included in the match.

For example, if today's Price Move reading puts it in the "Down Day (various magnitudes)" bucket, TradeOdds finds all historical days for that stock where Price Move was also classified as "Down Day (various magnitudes)" — then shows you what happened next.

Adding more conditions narrows the match (fewer but more specific historical days). Removing conditions widens the match (more historical days but less specific). The right balance depends on whether you want statistical significance (more matches) or precision (fewer but more similar matches).
