Volume Streak

Consecutive days above/below average volume

What Volume Streak Measures

Tracks how many consecutive days volume has been above or below the 20-day average. Persistent above-average volume often signals institutional accumulation or distribution, while persistent low volume can indicate a lack of conviction in the current trend.

Buckets

TradeOdds classifies each trading day into one of these buckets for Volume Streak. When you run an analysis, matching days must fall in the same bucket (or adjacent buckets if tolerance is set above 0).

Above Average Neutral Below Average

How It's Calculated

Count of consecutive days where daily volume is above or below the 20-day volume moving average.

How to Use Volume Streak in TradeOdds

When you run an analysis on TradeOdds, Volume Streak is one of 17 conditions that can be active. If Volume Streak is toggled on, only historical days where Volume Streak was in the same bucket as today are included in the match.

For example, if today's Volume Streak reading puts it in the "Above Average" bucket, TradeOdds finds all historical days for that stock where Volume Streak was also classified as "Above Average" — then shows you what happened next.

Adding more conditions narrows the match (fewer but more specific historical days). Removing conditions widens the match (more historical days but less specific). The right balance depends on whether you want statistical significance (more matches) or precision (fewer but more similar matches).
